The Pakistan National Monument is definitely worth a visit. The stunning flower- shaped structure was designed by Arif Masood to symbolize the progress of Pakistan. Islamabad has a huge number of museums and parks to explore. We highly recommend the Lok Virfa Museum for its fascinating collection of cultural artifacts, the Pakistan Museum of Natural History and the National Art Gallery for its mix of contemporary and classical painting.
For a peaceful day out take a trip to Rawal Lake in your car rental from Islamabad. The lake is in a beautifully landscaped park with gardens, picnic spots and secluded paths. Near the lake there are many outdoor activities including rock climbing, horseback riding and paragliding. Islamabad’s proximity to impressive scenery makes it a great destination for hikers. The famous Trail 3 hike is very popular and even has a parking lot at its start in Sector F. The trail takes you through beautiful forests and at the top you get a fantastic view over Islamabad and the valley.
