I was a little nervous about renting from Sixt given the reviews. I have traveled for work for 10+ years and always using Avis/Buget for most rentals. This was a personal trip and wanted a luxury vehicle.
The pickup was super simple, there was no one in front of me, unlike dollar at ORD where there had to be 15 people in line.
The pickup was super quick. They gave me an upgrade from the X3 to Cadillac XT6, which was very much appreciated given that we had a 3 hour drive each way.
The car was clean, had very minor damage (small scratch in the rear bumper), and only 8,500 miles. It was clearly not a loaded XT6; however it was not the base model.
I made sure to walk the car like I always do before leaving the parking garage to make sure any other damage was noted. This goes for anytime I rent a car.
There were no problems with the car during my use. As required, I brought back the car full of gas and had no issues when I returned it as other noted before.
In short, I’d rent from Sixt again. They might be my new go to given that other rental companies don’t have a very large selection of Luxury vehicles. They are your typical rent company when it comes to fees and damages. If you understand this and 1) walk your vehicle before you leave and 2) bring it back in the same conduction with a full tank of gas you won’t have any issues.
