Things to Do With a Sixt Rental Car in Kahului

Kahului is the main transportation hub on the island of Maui and offers excellent shopping opportunities and attractions for visitors. Rent a car and head to the city center to find major department stores and food markets selling excellent produce as well as a large shopping mall; Queen Ka'ahumanu Center. The Maui Nui Botanical Gardens, also in the center close to the harbor, are also recommended. The mission of the gardens is to protect Hawaiian flora that is native to the islands while being dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of Maui.

If you love surfing or simply love to admire the skills of surfers, head down to the Kanaha Beach Park to the east of the city center. The beach caters to a variety of water sports and has picnic and barbeque facilities making for a great group trip or family day out. Head southeast of the city and you can quickly reach one of the most popular natural attractions in Hawaii, Iao Valley State Park. The park offers scenic hiking trails and is home to the towering Lao Needle and Kepaniwai Park Heritage Gardens.

What a great staff, especially Mitchell Nohara! My grandson left his suitcase in the parking lot when we rented our car, and Mitchell went out of his way to let us know. Even the fellow who drove the shuttle from the airport was very nice and helpful. I would absolutely use Sixt again.

I rented a Sixt car on Kahalui and then was worried about finding the shuttle from all the reviews left here. Everyone seemed to complain about not being able to find the shuttle. Strange. As you go down the escalator there is a big orange sign with SIXT on it and an arrow pointing to the left. Obviously they knew flights were coming in because they were waiting for their Sixt customers.

Some reviewers had trouble with added insurance to their contracts so I did read mine carefully. I bought the pre-fill gas and saved 30 cents a gallon.

All in all, a great experience. I would recommend.

Expensive! But they say they are new to Hawaii so maybe they are sorting things out.
