After disembarking my cruise ship, we went to where the shuttle were supposed to be and was told, several folks tried to contact the rental company for the free shuttle and no was picking up the phone, nor were the shuttles coming. It was suggested to take a cab to the rental place. Now our choice was to take a cab and the cab driver over charged us and when we got in the Sixt location, the representative said we were scammed, I then told them why I took the cab. I did call the cab company and made the driver come back to give me the extra he gave me. The rental company offered me compensation for no shuttle , to which I agreed upon. I was to return the car and not have to pay for the gas. We were only in town for 6 hours so gas used was less than 1/4 tank. Approx $5 to refill But I was charged $58 prepay gas fill up. I saw the charge on my credit card when I got home yesterday. I spoke with customer service and they are to remove the charge. I will check again to insure its taken off.
The only other issue I had was getting the shuttle to the Fort Lauderdale airport, I was traveling with my 83 year old mother and we had several bags which we needed help with and a wheelchair for my mum. When we were dropped off the car rental bldg we were told to get on the bus in front of us to take us to Terminal 1. After loading all our luggage , we find out that bus doesn't go to that terminal. All we had to do was go into the doors where we were first let off and take the pathway across the road. Off we get , unload all the luggage and start over . Was quit the adventure.
