* Third Party Insurance (TI)
Insurance coverage for the vehicle rented includes Third Party Liability with a maximum cover of EUR 50 Mill for personal injuries and material damages. Maximum cover for personal injuries is EUR 8 Mill per injured person and is limited to Europe only. Coverage varies depending on country – This example applies to Germany
* Loss Damage waiver (LDW)
Loss Damage Waiver removes the driver’s responsibility for a part of the vehicle in case of damage or theft. If LDW is not accepted the customer will be held liable for the full value of the car.
* Tire & Glass Coverage (TG)
Tire and Glass Coverage provides coverage against damages on tires, windshield, passenger windows and rear window.
* Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
By taking out personal accident protection coverage, this can also be extended to cover person’s as a consequence of an accident.
* Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
Collision Damage Waiver removes the driver’s responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of damage.
* Theft Protection (TP)
Theft Protection removes the driver’s responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of theft.

It is possible to rent a car under 25 in Europe however different countries have different regulations on the rental age. Most countries in Europe will allow you to rent a car once you are 21, and other countries, you only have to be 18. However, if you are under 25 years old you might be charged with a young driver fee. Renting a car in Europe may sound very complicated however with Sixt it is an easy process. Once you have booked your car online (chose pick-up location, rental dates and vehicle category), all you have to do until you pick up your vehicle is keep track of your reservation number.
Once you arrive at the rental counter you will need to make sure you bring these things along to show the rental agent:
The rental agent will take you through the rest of the process and make sure you know all of the rules and regulations about renting a car in Europe or the country you are in before you drive off.
The rental agent will ask you questions about insurance, additional add-ons, rental dates and make sure the rental vehicle is correct. Then you will need to pay for the vehicle, once you pay, a deposit will be taken out from your bank account and will be returned 48 hours after the vehicle is returned. After you have paid you will receive your car rental keys and you will be ready to drive in Europe.
At most of our locations it is required to make sure the fuel tank is returned full and the vehicle is in good standard, no trash everywhere, not too dirty etc. If this is not done, a cleaning fee will be charged to your reservation.
