I turned the car in and was hit with an $1100 bill for a couple of scratches and a scuff near the front wheel which I don’t recall causing. The car was given to me wet providing a difficult environment to detect previous blemishes on the car. There were cheaper rental agencies in town, but they had bad reviews for charging exorbitant amounts for small damage. I went with Sixt because they had better reviews, even though they cost twice as much. I guess all car rental agencies are the same. I will never rent from Sixt again.
Update. I worked with Sixt to get this issue resolved. They had great customer service. The entire rental process was positive, 5 stars, until this issue happened. With their goodwill, I will be renting with them again.

The rental procedure is a bit misleading (it is not 100% that you have the car, even if you place your order weeks before). But, the staff is very helpful and for us, he could get us a car for just a little more additional euros!
