I was asked by the SIXT App to add a trusted device. Why should I do this?
This is a security measure to protect you and your account from fraud. Once you have added a trusted device, your data (personal contact details and means of payment) is even more secure because this allows our system to check both your PIN code and whether you are attempting to book your journey from a device you have verified prior to starting your SIXT share rental. If the system doesn´t recognize the device and/or you do not add it, the rental cannot begin. The SIXT app will guide you through the process of adding a trusted device.
I was asked to verify my phone number in the SIXT app. Why do I need to do that?
The security of your account and your data is of the utmost importance to us, which is why we develop appropriate measures to protect you from fraud. Please do verify your phone number to ensure that your data (personal contact information, registered payment methods) is protected in the best possible way. The verification proces is very simple and takes less than a minute. Should you be asked to verify, please enter your current cell phone number that you use on the device on which you also use the SIXT app. You will immediately receive an SMS with a code and then have one minute to enter this code in the app. If you need a bit more time, simply request a new code. If you would like to change your phone number in your profile at a later time, you will be asked to verify this again.
Can I withhold certain information on my ID card during the registration?
Yes, you have the option of blacking out certain information on the ID card (identity card or passport). This includes: Card Access Number (CAN, only available on the new ID cards), eye color, height, name of group or alias, and signature. Hiding this data does not have any negative effect on your registration, but please note that any data not listed here is necessary for your registration. To withhold data, please cover your ID card with paper (or similar) and take a picture of the original ID card during the registration process. Please note, that subsequent image processing of a scan or picture of your ID card is not allowed.
I have lost my driver's license. What am I supposed to do?
Please inform our customer service. You will then be able to upload your new driver's license again in the SIXT App.
My driver's license / ID card has expired. Can I still use the service?
In order to use our services, you need to possess valid documents. We preserve the right to temporarily deactivate your account once your documents expired. Please upload a valid document within the SIXT App and we will activate your account again.
How can I edit my personal data?
Open the "account" tab within the app and select "personal data" or booking profiles" to edit your personal data.
How do I change my SIXT share PIN?
Please click on the "Account" tab on the bottom right of the app and select "Personal Data". Then select "Change PIN" and have your driver's license number ready.
How do I change my payment details?
To change your means of payment, click on the "Account" tab and then on "Booking profiles". Edit or delete your means of payment by clicking on "Payment method".
How do I change my name in the app?
We are pleased to help you updating your user name. Please reach out to our customer service, afterwards you'll be asked to upload your driver's license, your ID card and a selfie again via the app.
How can I unsubscribe from the newsletter?
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter by selecting the "unsubscribe" button in the newsletter.
How do I cancel SIXT share?
With SIXT share, we have expanded our mobility service so that you can choose the best mobility solution for to your needs. If you don't use SIXT share, no costs will occur. Therefore it is unnecessary to cancel your account. The advantage: You can still use our SIXT rent or SIXT share vehicles whenever you need .
How d I resert my password?
Resetting your password is very simple. Just open the "Account" tab, select "Personal Data" and then click on "Change password". Please enter your current and desired new password and you are done.
I possess a pink driver's licence from Germany. Will it be accepted?
Of course, you can use our service with your pink driver's license, too. During the activation process within the SIXT app, please unfold your driver's license and take a picture of both sides. We will check your data and activate your account as quickly as possible.
I haven't received any confirmation or my registration by email. What should I do?
Please check your spam folder and verify if you have entered the correct email address during the registration. If you did not receive any confirmation email, you can request that we send you another confirmation email anytime. Simply open the SIXT App and click on "I did not receive an email".
How can I register?
To use SIXT share, please log in to the SIXT App with your existing login or create a new one within the SIXT app or on this website by providing your name and email address. You will automatically receive an email asking you to click on the link to confirm your new login. Please log into the SIXT app, add your preferred means of payment within the "Account" tab and then click on "Activate now" in order to complete your data. Please have your driver's license and ID card or passport ready. We will check your data and activate your account as quickly as possible.
