How does the payment process work and what payment methods are accepted or not accepted for Sixt+ in the USA?

WHAT PAYMENT OPTIONS DO I HAVE AT SIXT +?

All credit cards from internationally recognized credit card companies (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, JCB, CUP) are accepted as payment. Debit cards are accepted for selected car categories (Vans, Economy through Full-size Sedans, Compact through Intermediate SUVs and Pick-up Trucks), but may require supporting documentation, such as utility bills. Pre-paid debit cards are not accepted. The means of payment must be in the name of the main driver.

HOW DOES THE PAYMENT WORK?

As long as your contract is active, in addition to the one-time sign-up fee charged at the beginning of the contract, the package price of your car subscription will be charged every 30 days at the beginning of the billing period. The payment method you have provided will be charged. If you book additional services (e.g. a child seat) that are not included in the fixed rental price, these additional services will be billed every 30 days in the next monthly invoice. If an additional service is only booked when the vehicle is picked up at the station, the respective fee is authorized to be paid with the corresponding means of payment until the settlement of the next term.

DO I HAVE TO PAY A SECURITY DEPOSIT? WHEN WILL I RECEIVE THIS BACK?

When picking up the vehicle, a security deposit is required to fulfill the contractual obligations in addition to the subscription fee, with which we authorize your credit card. The amount of the authorization depends on the vehicle group of the rented vehicle and the general Sixt terms and conditions in the version valid at the time of the rental. The amount will be released to your credit card again at the end of the first billing cycle.

HOW CAN I UPDATE MY PAYMENT METHOD?

You can update your payment method by updating your payment method in the Sixt app or by calling customer service.

A SIXT+ subscription can only be approved subject to a positive credit check.
