What should I pay attention to in case of an accident abroad?
In case of an accident or damage event, the following things must be done:
'- In principle, every accident or damage event must be reported to the police immediately, regardless of whether it was caused by you or a third party and even if no third party was involved.
'- As the renter, you are responsible for ensuring that SIXT receives all the necessary information for assessing the incident.
'- Therefore, please contact SIXT share customer service immediately on site and do not leave until you have done so.
'- The rental period ends only after the vehicle has been returned, even in the event of an accident or damage event. If the vehicle is no longer operational or roadworthy, the rental period ends after consultation with customer service and
handover to the towing company.
'- Send your written accident report or the completed SIXT damage report form - preferably with photos of all damages and the location of the incident - to the SIXT damage service at schaden@sixt.com (Germany) or damage-
share.bnl@sixt.com (Netherlands). Please provide us with the police file number.
How do I refuel or charge a SIXT share car abroad?
As in the domestic country, SIXT also covers the costs of refueling and charging abroad. To do this, select one of our partner gas stations through the SIXT app, and follow the instructions in the app. Payment is automated through the SIXT app. Please note that we cannot reimburse manual refueling costs abroad at non-partner gas stations.
SIXT also covers the charging costs for SIXT share trips abroad.
Please note that only charging processes via the SIXT share tab are covered by SIXT. Charging costs via the SIXT charge tab will not be reimbursed.
