How do I book an hourly, daily, or mileage package?
Hourly, daily, and mileage packages can only be booked through the SIXT app. Open the ""SIXT share"" tab and click on the desired vehicle to reserve it. Afterwards, all available packages will be displayed. Select your preferred package and click on ""Next"". During this time, your free 15-minute reservation time continues. Go to the vehicle and open it as usual to start your package by clicking ""Open vehicle"".
Where can I find the costs of the packages for my desired vehicle?
SIXT share offers a wide range of different vehicle models and sizes. Accordingly, package prices vary depending on the vehicle you choose. Before making a reservation, click on ""Prices & Packages"" to the right of the vehicle's per-minute rate to see the currently valid package prices for the selected vehicle.
I have booked a package, but have not yet started the rental. Can I still change or cancel the package?
No problem, booked packages can be changed flexibly before the rental starts, that is before clicking ""Open vehicle"". Click on ""Configure"" to change your existing selection.
What should I consider when booking a mileage package?
You can only add a mileage package during the reservation process and it is unfortunately not possible to add it after the start of the rental. Please also note that a mileage package is only valid during your booked per-minute rate or hourly/daily package and cannot be transferred to subsequent trips. Any remaining kilometers will expire after the rental option ends.
Example: You book a 3-hour package with 50 included kilometers and a mileage package with an additional 50 kilometers. Within these 3 hours, you only drive 90 km, meaning the remaining 10 kilometers will expire.
I have already started my rental. Can I still change or cancel my package?
No, it is not possible to cancel or change a booked package after starting the rental by clicking ""Open vehicle"".
I want to book a package in the coming days. How far in advance is this possible?
As usual, you can reserve a vehicle for 15 minutes for free. You can extend your reservation for a fee for a maximum of 12 hours, which costs around 30% of the current per-minute rate. Your reservation is free on Sundays to Thursdays, between 10 pm and 6 am of the following day. Note that the vehicle will be released for all users if you do not start the rental before the reservation expires.
How do I know during the rental how long my package is still valid?
During the trip, the app shows you how long you have been on the road, so you can easily calculate the remaining time yourself. 15 minutes before the package expires, you will receive a push notification (prerequisite: notifications are enabled for the SIXT share app) with a corresponding notice. Of course, you can also keep the vehicle beyond the duration of the booked package, in which case you will be charged a flat per-minute rate.
I want to keep the vehicle beyond the duration of my booked package. Is that possible?
Yes, you can of course keep your vehicle for a total of up to 27 days after your package has expired. Once your package has expired, you will be charged a flat per-minute rate.
What are the costs if I exceed the included kilometers in my package? What happens to the included kilometers if I keep the vehicle beyond the package duration?
Our system automatically recognizes how many kilometers you drive during the duration of the booked package, and each additional kilometer is charged at the usual price and added to the invoice. If you keep the vehicle beyond the duration of the package, please note that only the usual 200 kilometers per trip are included again after the package has expired. This means that any additional kilometers you drive during the use of the package will be charged to you, even if you have driven less than 200 km in total after the end of the trip.
Example: You book a 3-hour package and keep the vehicle for a total of 4 hours. You drive 80 km in the first 3 hours and another 70 km in the 4th hour, for a total of 150 km. Since you drove 30 km more than included during the duration of the package, you will be charged for the additional 30 kilometers and an additional 60 minutes at the per-minute rate at the time of vehicle reservation.
I have not used up my package, will the difference be refunded?
Unfortunately, we cannot refund unused minutes or kilometers afterwards, so use your package to the fullest.
