CAN I PAUSE MY SUBSCRIPTION?

You are going on vacation, are on a business trip for a longer period of time or do not need your SIXT+ vehicle for one or more weeks? Then you can now easily pause your subscription for up to 3 months.

By the way, you also make your car subscription more sustainable. While you pause your subscription, every returned car can be used efficiently and as needed by other subscribers instead of sitting unused in the garage. This sustainably reduces the total number of vehicles required by our subscribers and helps to conserve resources.

How can I pause my subscription?

You can request the pause easily via the SIXT Simply navigate to MY CURRENT SUBSCRIPTION > PAUSE SUBSCRIPTION and select the desired period of the subscription pause. All you have to do is let us know when you would like to resume your subscription. The pausing of the subscription starts automatically after the return of the vehicle. However, please make sure that you return your vehicle before the date of the next subscription extension, otherwise the subscription will be extended for another month at your expense. To continue your subscription, simply pick up your vehicle again at your SIXT station on the specified resumption date.

Example: Let's say your next subscription renewal is on August 30 at 9am and you want to pause your subscription for 3 weeks.

Let us know via the SIXT app under MY CURRENT SUBSCRIPTION > PAUSE SUBSCRIPTION that you would like to pause your subscription as of the next subscription period and when you would like to resume your subscription

Return your vehicle to a SIXT station before the renewal date on August 30. The pause is valid from this date. Of course, you can return your vehicle earlier, but there will be no pro-rata refund for the remaining subscription month not driven.

To resume your subscription, simply pick up your vehicle again at your SIXT station on the specified resume date.

What are the costs during the pause of the subscription?

During the pause of the subscription, of course, no monthly costs are due and of course, when the subscription is resumed, no new entry fee will be charged.

What happens to my mileage vault during the pause?

The mileage you have accumulated in your mileage vault over the past months will not expire during the pause, but will continue to be available when you resume your subscription.

From when and for how long is a pause possible?

A pause is possible from a period of one week up to a maximum of 3 months.

Similar to the gym, a pause is only possible from the start of the next subscription month. So if you decide that you do not need the vehicle temporarily during a subscription month that has already begun, you will continue to pay the full monthly amount for this subscription month and can only pause the payment afterwards.

What happens to my vehicle during the pause?

Every car that is handed in instead of sitting unused in the garage is used efficiently and in line with demand by other subscribers. This sustainably reduces the total number of vehicles required by subscribers. Since a large proportion of emissions are generated during vehicle production, fewer vehicles produced also mean less CO2 consumption. So pausing gives you more flexibility, saves you money, and also reduces your carbon footprint.

When you resume your subscription, you will again receive a vehicle of the vehicle category you booked. However, please understand that we cannot provide you with the same vehicle as before your break.
