METHODOLOGY
We analyzed more than 200 scenic locations, including popular destinations and bridges across the United States, to identify the best spots for sunsets. To determine air quality, we used PM 2.5 (µg/m³) data, which measures the levels of fine particulate matter at each location. Additionally, we evaluated popularity using Instagram hashtag searches, TikTok search volume, and Google search volume, as sourced from KeywordTool.io. We also considered the overall popularity of these locations based on general search interest, independent of sunset-related terms. By assigning weights to each metric based on its relevance, we ranked the top U.S. locations for viewing sunsets. Data is accurate as of January 21, 2025.
