Methodology
To identify the most haunted roads in the world, we analyzed search trends on Google and TikTok using KeywordTool.io and InstantDataScraper for each road name accompanied by the terms “ghost” or “haunted,” comparing the results with previously published lists of haunted roads in 2023, 2024 and 2025. Searches for each road combined with “ghost” or “haunted” on Google and TikTok were weighted at 50% to determine the rankings. Standalone search volume for each road on Google and TikTok was also collected to provide additional context on the overall popularity of each road but did not contribute to the weighted ranking. Highway 666 and Route 491 were both retained to reflect the route’s historical and modern relevance, with Highway 666 representing its historic designation and Route 491 its current designation. We also used this data to identify the most haunted roads in Europe and the U.S. Data is accurate as of July 30, 2026.
