What documents do I need to register with SIXT, and can I hide some information?

You can black out certain fields on your ID or passport when registering with SIXT — and yes, a paper driver's license is accepted too.

Can I hide some information on my ID card?

Yes. When uploading your ID card or passport, you may black out the following fields without affecting your registration:

• Card Access Number (CAN) — available on newer IDs only
• Eye color
• Height
• Ordnance or artist name
• Signature

All other fields — including your name, address, and ID number — must remain visible, as SIXT needs them to verify your identity.

Will my paper driver's license work?

Yes. To register with a paper driver's license in the SIXT app:

1. Unfold your driver's license completely.
2. Take a clear photo of both sides.
3. Submit the photos — SIXT will review your details and activate your account as soon as possible.
