If you are not accustomed to standard driving transmission, be sure to reserve a vehicle with automatic transmission in advance to ensure streamlined driving.
Germans drive on the right-hand side of the road. Familiarize yourself with the meaning of road sign symbols, which may be different from your home country, and other driving customs in Germany before you head out.
In Germany, right turns at red lights are not permitted unless there is a green right turn arrow indicating it is allowed.
Obey speed limits, which are 50 km/h (31 mph) in cities and 100 km/h (62 mph) in rural areas. The Autobahn (highway system) has no speed limit, but you should still exercise caution, as it is regulated to keep drivers safe from reckless driving and speeding according to road conditions.
Keep right except to pass. If someone flashes their high beam lights behind you, it means they want you to move over.

Good experience. Picked up vehicle that I reserved online. No problems. It was a moving van - I had to go get someone to show me how the lift gate worked, but someone was able to help me promptly. I did pre-check in, but still had to wait in line. Staff were nice at both check in and return. All documents pertaining to rental received in my email with no surprises. They even reimbursed me for the ad blu I had to buy (I drove 495 km, so it was a lot). I picked up the vehicle by taking the train to the location. Very easy access.

Yes. Additional drivers must be named in the rental contract, as only listed drivers are permitted to drive. Original driving licences must be presented at vehicle pick-up for all additional drivers. A fee applies per additional driver, unless you book the "multiple driver flat rate", which covers any number of additional drivers for a single flat fee.
