Under 25 Car Rental Special in the USA

How to rent a car under 25?

It is simple to rent a car with Sixt when you are under the age of 25, all you need to have are these simple things:

  • A valid driver's license
  • Must have been driving for over 1 year
  • A valid debit or credit card (check our accepted payment methods here)

Things to Remember for Young Rental Car Drivers

  • A fee* will apply for rentals at every locations in the United States. Please check how much you will be charged if you are a driver under 25 at our branches across the US.
  • If you are looking to rent a car abroad on a vacation, the rental age differs per country. Make sure you are aware of the renting age in each country by clicking here.
  • Even though a smaller selection of rental cars are available to those under 25, each one is of the highest quality and replaced after six months. Find out more about the available categories below.

Age Restrictions in the USA

Drivers have to meet the following age requirements to rent certain car groups:

    • If between the ages of 21 to 24 only the following categories can be rented ?
    • ECAR-FCAR, CFAR, CTAR IFAR, ILAE, ISAR, MBAR, MVAR, SSAR
    •  

  • 25 years / PCAR, LCAR, FVAR, STAR, PTAR, XTAR, SFAR, FFAR, PFAR, LFAR, XFAR, XCAR, XDAR, XCEA, PVAR, FWAR, PWAR, XSAR, PSAR, ITAR
  • Driver's license for vehicle groups FVAR, PVAR must include an approval for category D1.
  • EU citizens are allowed to drive vehicles with up to 8 passengers.
