The drive from Tampa to Miami covers 280 miles and typically takes about four hours. The route starts out on the Selmon Expressway, a tolled road, expressway and links you to Interstate 75. At Naples the road sets off toward the east, cutting through the Everglades, and this section is commonly known as Alligator Alley.
