Tenerife offers visitors some of the most varied landscapes on the Canary Islands. The island is spread around the towering Pico del Teide, the highest mountain in Spain and largest volcano of the islands in the Atlantic. The black sand beach in Los Gigantes is also terrific while the town has plenty of excellent natural seawater lidos. Climate
Tenerife has fantastic beach weather all year round with summer highs of 84 degrees F and a low rainfall. Surprisingly for an island on the same latitude as the Sahara, you can find snow on Tenerife at the top of Mount Teide, during the winter months. Winters on the coast still have an average high of 70 degrees F.
Cuisine
Thanks to an abundance of fish the seafood on Tenerife is exquisite. Also expect to find plenty of goat and rabbit as well as pork, especially during festivities. Mojos are hot peppery sauces that come as an accompaniment with almost everything and you can expect a huge variety of colors and flavors to dip your bread into. The Canary Islands are also known for their excellent goat cheese.
