I've always been wary of car rentals but took the plunge with Sixt South Melbourne this time round, given the raving reviews in Google. I have to say, no regrets. Everything from the booking to the collection to the vehicle and finally the return process, exceeded my expectations and it was a wonderful experience not only renting the car, but driving it as well. Staff was awesome in explaining clearly the terms and conditions to us, and they were friendly and welcoming throughout the entire process. The location was quiet, and was a good place to exit to the highway, as compared to the busy city centre. The car provided, while it had a minor dent at the back, was otherwise in impeccable condition. Car was washed, interior wiped down and had a nice smell too. Almost convinced it was a brand new car if not for the dent. Drive was great and the car provided gave us no issues at all. The return process was also a great one, with after hours return, allowing us ample time to travel back without rushing. Overall, amazing experience, couldn't ask for more. Will definitely go back again to rent with Sixt South Melbourne if I return for a trip.

Decided to rent a car from Sixt Company as it offered the most competitive rental price as compared to other rental companies in Melbourne. However, at the same times, also feel quite skeptical on this rental company after reading all the negative online reviews. Collection of the car is quite hassle free and our car is ready for collection when I reached the site. I was attended by Melanie (if I remember her name correctly). Explanation was clear and this company allows Drop-off of the car key after office hour. Due to recent flooding at Melbourne, I decided to upgrade the in-house insurance coverage (no excess) on the spot to have a peaceful trip. Well, the insurance will cost another Aud30+ per day. After inspection of the car, the interior was clean and I also highlighted some scratches on the exterior before signing off. It was a great experience renting from this outlet of this company. If you intend for a Great Ocean Road trip, the journey from this site to the highway is quite direct and convenient.

Excellent car rental. I rented a VW crafter for a day in order to help with my moving process. The pick up was super uncomplicated. Paper work was explained without time pressure and we did a tour around the van also without time pressure. They even took their time to explain me some features of the van in case I’d be new to driving them. The van itself was clean and in excellent condition - even smelled new. I returned it without damages and was immediately refunded my deposit. This is what I expect from car rentals!
