I was looking for a rental car option where we could start our journey in downtown Melbourne and return to the airport. Sixt worked really well for us. We arrived and the front desk staff was very friendly and quickly took care of us. We were on our way quickly.

I was very nervous about my car booking as I saw long lines queuing outside of the branch on a weekend. I went earlier on the actual day of my booking and there was a much shorter queue and there were only 2 counters open. Registration and paperwork took about 15mins for me so just ensure you buffer the queue times and your travel time and you should be fine. Counter staff was very friendly and helpful. He noticed that it was my birthday and offered me a car upgrade from a Toyota to a Mercedes. Child car seat installation was done on the spot and the condition of the car is very well maintained. I couldn't really ask for more in respect to the car. Sixt Carpark is within the Wilson Parking at Southern Cross Station that charges insane hourly parking rates. Thankfully if you rent overnight, Sixt would offer complimentary parking coupons that you can use to exit free of charge. Car rental rates are also very reasonable and branch location is very convenient. I would definitely rent from Sixt again. Would be happier if they could have more efficiency on the key collection and that would be 5 stars from me.

Excellent: would definitely recommend. Positives: *Right on the free city tram line so easy access *Well marked with a large street sign *Competitive pricing *Released bond within 24 hours *Clean car with minimal km *24 hour return timeframe (just drop the key in the return box) *Very helpful parking staff. Helped me find the park brake; I also left my prescription sunglasses in the car and raced back to the garage first thing the next morning to find the car was already being cleaned. The person cleaning it looked thoroughly for me and when he couldn't find anything directed me to the in-garage office. My glasses had been found and were sitting safe with a card stapled around them stating when they had been found and which booking they were connected to. *We weren't sure what car we needed and what we had booked so they explained what it was and when we explained what we were doing they upgraded us free of charge to something with more room. *Bookings are per 24 hours instead of days so if we hired the car at 12pm, as long as it was returned prior to 12pm the following day it only counted as 24 hours. *If we returned the car earlier than 24 hours prior to our booking end time then the extra time was also refunded to us. *Excellent communication and information sharing. *Insurance options are excellent, well-priced, reliable, and explained clearly. Could improve: *Took us a while to figure out the type of fuel we needed to fill the car with and it would help to pre-set the GPS system with the parking garage and a few close petrol stations. *The phone system is a bit tricky when they are busy. Probably need more people on and a queue system in the front of house office area.

Great service, good price, car was new, clean, hybrid - we ended up spending $38 for gas for a round trip to the 12 apostles. I’d recommend getting a car from here

Fast handover and return. Didnt get the exact model i want but they provide a comparable one. Car is considerably new with low milage and clean when handed over.
