THE RANGE ROVER VELAR: SPACIOUS AND SPORTY
First revealed to the world at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2017, the Range Rover Velar is aimed squarely at the SUV crossover market. With its sleek looks and powerful engine, it sits somewhere between the compact Evoque and the latest version of the Range Rover Sport. It has bells and whistles to match most modern luxury cars, including rear parking sensors and two touchscreens (so that you can use one to adjust various settings while enjoying the Velar's entertainment system on the other). At the same time, it has a towing capacity of 2.65-2.8 tons, 22.3 cubic feet of cargo space, and an interior well equipped with door bins, cup-holders and USB sockets. And if you're heading to the slopes in your luxury car rental, the rear bench splits in the middle to accommodate a pair of skis. The glory of the car, however, is what's under the hood. Depending on whether you're driving the four-cylinder 2-liter or the 2-liter V6, the engine can unleash anything from 296 to 375 bhp, notching up speeds of 0 to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds. Whichever version you encounter on your luxury car rental, you can expect a combination of whisper-quiet refinement and impressive fuel economy.
