Can I rent a car without a credit card?

Car rental with a debit card 

• Non-local renters can use a debit card, but cannot rent any premium, luxury, or specialty vehicles, except for vans and pickup trucks. The renter must present the return airline ticket/roundtrip flight itinerary upon pick-up.
• Local renters must present an original and current utility bill that matches the name and address on the driver’s license used. Photocopies, printouts, and digital images are not permitted, and these bills must be no more than 30 days old and cannot be past due. Only categories ECAR-FCAR, CFAR, IFAR, SPAR, PPAR, MVAR, FVAR, PVAR can be rented. Debit cards are not accepeted at airport branches.
• International customers, whose debit card is issued in their country of residence, may rent any category vehicle except for Specialty cars. The renter must present the return airline ticket/roundtrip flight itinerary upon pick-up.

What kind of car can I rent with a debit card? 

• In-state renters with a debit card may only rent categories ECAR-FCAR, CFAR, IFAR, SPAR, PPAR, MVAR, FVAR, PVAR.
• Out-of-state renters with a debit card may rent MCAR, ECAR, CCAR, ICAR, SCAR, FCAR, CTAR, ITAR, STAR, IFAR, SFAR, RFAR, FFAR, GFAR, SPAR, PPAR, MVAR, FVAR, PVAR and cargo vans.
• International renters with a debit card may reserve all categories except specialty cars. 
• Debit cards are accepted for long term rentals (defined as 28 days or longer).

Renting with a debit card at an airport location:

• In-state customers cannot use a debit card at an airport location, or the following Downtown locations: Inglewood (Local Customers) and Philadelphia (Local Customers).
• Out-of-state customers may use a debit card, but may not rent any premium, luxury, or extraordinary vehicles, except for passenger vans and pickups. The renter must present a return airline ticket or roundtrip itinerary upon pick-up made at least 24 hours prior to the pick-up date, that coincides with the drop-off date and location.
• International customers, whose debit card is issued in their country of residence, may rent any category vehicle except for Specialty cars. The renter must present a return airline ticket/roundtrip flight itinerary upon pick-up, made at least 24 hours prior to the pick-up date, that coincides with the drop-off date and location.

Renting with a debit card at a downtown location:

• Local customers may rent at a downtown location using a debit card. They must present an original and current utility bill that matches the name and address on the driver’s license used. Only gas, water, light, and sewage bills are accepted. Photocopies, printouts, and digital images are not permitted (digital format can be accepted provided that the source of the document comes from the official page; e.g. FPL site). Utility bills need to be the most current or from the last 30 days and cannot be Past Due. Additionally, local renters may only rent economy through full-size sedans, compact through intermediate SUVs, passenger vans and pickups with a debit card.
