After having had a nightmare trying to rent with other companies, due to my drivers license address not matching by bank card address purely due to how the address is formatted, I was beginning to think that our trip was going to have to be cancelled.
We booked online with Sixt about 10minutes before arriving to the office (be aware that while the location states Waverley station, the office is actually in Q-Park, Omni Centre (about a 5min walk from the station). When we arrived we were seen to straight away. The age (21) was not a problem and nor was any license checks as the agent Adam checked through secondary proofs of address I had to confirm everything - which I do not understand why the other companies were not able to do. While there is a young driver charge for under 25s of £79/day, Sixt still ended up cheaper than some other companies - and they were the only ones who seemed able to actually give us the car.
The car we got was brand new, in great condition, nice and big for a long road trip through Scotland and Adam talked us through all the policy and all the options available to us which was very useful.
Our return could not have been easier, I turned up on time and met the agent Jonas who took the keys, did a quick check of the car and determined everything was in order and that was it.
As first time renters (at 21) we thought there would maybe be some problems but Adam gave us good advice for the rental and renting in the future which gave me confidence and the return of the car with Jonas couldn't have been further from the nightmare of rental car returns I had heard online.
Thank you to Sixt for saving our holiday and especially to Adam and Jonas for being such great agents to us inexperienced renters!
