Visiting Tel Aviv
Tel Aviv is a spectacular city in Israel that is right on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Known affectionately as the 'City that Never Sleeps', it is one of the most visited cities in the Middle East. There are many museums to visit, one of which is the Museum of the History of Tel Aviv, which is a favorite amongst travelers looking to research the historical background of this Israeli city. Having a rental car is one of the most efficient ways of transportation. When visiting Tel Aviv you can take advantage of the freedom that renting a car gives by heading outside city. - Israel is known for great beaches and you can find some more isolated spots by exploring the Golden Coast. Only half an hour away from Tel Aviv, Palmachim Beaches lets you escape the crowds of Tel Aviv's beaches and visit a sea turtle nesting ground.
- For those interested in history, the Roman and crusader ruins at Caesarea are fascinating. This archeological site is surprisingly intact and gives an insight into Israel during the biblical times. The ruins are an hour drive from Tel Aviv and are situated near pristine, sandy beaches.
- A must for all visits to Israel is to visit Jerusalem. The Holy City is only half an hour away from TLV airport and so is an easy day trip even if your time is limited.
