Rent a car with Sixt and see the city

Larnaka, to give it its Greek spelling, is probably the oldest city in Cyprus and was inhabited over 6,000 years ago. Today it is a vibrant seaside town that is popular with history fans for attractions like the Church of St. Lazarus, a beautifully restored 9th century Byzantine church, and the Hala Sultan Tekke Mosque. Be sure to drive to the Salt Lakes just a few miles west of the city. The UNESCO World Heritage site consists of four lakes and is home to thousands of birds including vast flocks of flamingos. Plan a road trip to Famagusta in the Turkish part of the island, drive to the Trudos Mountains for a change of pace, or visit Ayia Napa for its world-famous beaches and clubs. Everything is within easy reach with a rental car at your disposal.

Ok but, be aware. We were offered an upgrade for 5 Euros per day at the desk in the terminal, which we declined, we then listened in the car park office to the same upgrade being offered to another couple for 3 Euros per day. The hire car was not entirely full of fuel and the A/C system needed de-odourising.

We rented a car for 16 days. The lady at the desk was very kind and professional. We weren't bothered with extra insurances or other offers (many people seem to complain about getting offers they already paid for). After 10 mins at the office we got our car. The contract was simple and easy to understand. The car was very clean and in great condition. Also the employee showed us every scratch (only little ones) the car already had and gave us time to see for ourselves - no pressure at all!

The return went just as simple as the pick up. We got our receipt with a confirmation that the car is fueled up and without any damage.

Overall Sixt offered a very professional service without hidden fees or any kind of rip-offs. I totally recommend renting a car here.
