The renter and all approved drivers must be in possession of a full, valid driving licence for at least 2 years and present it together with an identity card or passport while receiving delivery of the vehicle. Furthermore, the following conditions apply depending on the issuing country of the driving licence. EU Driving Licences Valid driving licences of all EU countries are accepted All Other Licences Driving Licences printed with non-Roman Alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, and Cyrillic) must be accompanied by a valid International Driving Permit.
Sixt supports Chinese customers with the necessary translations via Sixt WeChat Account or via following link: Link. This or any other kind of valid translation of the driving license can only be accepted if accompanied by the original driving license.
Photocopies, digital licenses, Learner's Permits, and driver's licenses with driving restrictions will not be accepted.
If customers have been in Türkiye for longer than six months, they need a driving license from Türkiye to rent a car. Therefore, customers need to present the entry stamp in the passport to rent a car. For citizens from Türkiye and foreign customers who stay in Türkiye for more than six months, a credit assessment is carried out.
The following car groups are not provided for new customers only for those who have already rented at least once with Sixt Türkiye: ILAR, PDAR, LDAR.
Certain regulations apply related to minimum age and possession of driver's license which can be found during the booking process depending on the booked vehicle. Basically, the minimum age for every driver is 21 years (having held the driving license for at least 2 years). A deviation from the minimum age is possible depending on the vehicle. In Türkiye, the following rules apply for the minimum age and possession of a driver's license:

All credit cards from internationally recognized credit card companies - such as Eurocard/Mastercard, Visa are acceptable as payment methods whereas all prepaid / debit cards and American Express are not accepted. The payment method must have been issued in the name of the driver. This must be presented at the time of vehicle pick-up and be valid at this time. The renter must be the owner of the indicated credit card. The authorised driver details and method of payment will be confirmed at reservation stage and cannot be amended. All extra costs that occur during the car rental will be charged to this credit card.
Due to fluctuating foreign exchange rates and other possible banking charges, Sixt Türkiye cannot be held responsible for any difference between the amount paid and the amount refunded.
Sixt CarExpress Servicecard (Advantage Circle) is only accepted in combination with a valid Credit Card.
Cash Payment is not accepted.
Please note, that payments with credit card may require the PIN of the credit card.
An advance charge approval is obtained for the chosen means of payment as a security. The exact deposit is determined on collection since the amount is dependent on the vehicle.
In order to take an aproval for the deposit, the credit card should be allowed to "mail order" transactions.

To hire one of the following vehicles, customers must present two credit cards issued by two different banks: ILAR, PDAR, LDAR, XFAR. Gold card, Platinum Card holders are exempted from this rule in case they rented a car from Sixt in the last 3 months. Diamond card holders are not required to show additional credit card as a security.
In addition, renting multiple vehicles with one credit card is usually not possible. Exceptions are only possible after consultation with your Sixt station.
When booking at a prepaid rate, the payment will be charged along with the total rental price (incl. booked extras and charges) prior to the rental. The driver and mode of payment shall be finalised at the time of reservation and cannot be changed. The confirmed credit card should be valid and available for presentation on collection of the vehicle. All extra costs that occur during the car rental will be charged to this credit card. A refund shall not be issued for non-collection, vehicle being collected late or returned early.
Changing booking
Changing Booking A prepaid booking can be changed up to 48 hours before the start of the rental (depending on availability) in return for a booking modification fee of 20,00 EUR. Any payment already made towards the rental will not be refunded; nor shall any differential amount be refunded if this modification leads to a lesser rental cost. Any changes made to a prepaid reservation may impact the rental rate. A change from a prepaid rate to a non-prepaid rate is not possible.
Cancellation
A booking can be cancelled before the rental begins. In the event of cancellation, the payment in advance already made towards the rental shall be paid back subject to a cancellation charge, which will be withheld and shall be in the amount of the rental charge ( including any extras and charges) for a maximum of 3 rental days. Cancellations or changes made within 24 hours of booking can be completed free of charge, provided the scheduled pick-up time is more than 48 hours away.
No-show
In the event that the booked vehicle is not collected or not collected at the agreed time, the rental charge already paid shall be withheld in full.
A police record is obligatory for all protections. In case that the driver does not ensure police presence or a police record, the full amount for the damage and/or theft will be charged to the driver irrespective of the kind of the purchased protection.
Protection coverage for the vehicle rented includes Third Party Liability with a maximum cover of 3,400.00 EUR for material damages and 34,200.00 EUR for personal injuries.
Maximum cover for personal injuries is 34,200.00 EUR per injured person, 171,400.00 EUR per insured event. Maximum cover for material damage is 6,800.00 EUR per car per event.
Excluded from the protection is the use of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods. All protection as part of the rental contract will become void, in particular, if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle or if the driver of the vehicle does not possess the required driver's license at the time of the event giving rise to claim.
If purchased Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) protects the renter against claims made by a third party for -bodily injury- and/or property damages sustained as a result of an accident while the renter is operating a -rental vehicle-.
This coverage supplies Renter with third-party liability protection up to a limit of 425,000.00 EUR per accident.
Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) does not cover all situations that may arise while operating a -rental vehicle-. SLI does not cover all risks. There may be exclusions for unauthorized or intoxicated drivers, no first party uninsured motorist coverage, no coverage for certain passengers in the vehicle, and other exclusions.
Collision Damage Waiver removes the drivers responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of damage.

Theft Protection removes the drivers responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of theft.

If TP is already included in the rates, the renter can choose Theft Protection with reduced excess to reduce the Non-Waiverable Responsibility.
If TP with reduced excess is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amounts: 0.00 EUR
The tire and glass coverage provides protection for damages on tires, windscreen, side windows and the rear window with a deductible of EUR 0.00.
If the protection is not accepted, the customer will be held liable for the full extent of the damage.
By taking out personal accident protection coverage can also be extended to cover the consequences of an accident.
By taking out personal accident protection the limit of liability is: EUR 1,250.00 for invalidity, EUR 1,250.00 for decease, and EUR 65.00 for medical costs.
Cross border rentals are not allowed.
In case of offence against Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions all protections lose their validity.
Accessories are bookable without obligation and subject to availability.

One-way rentals within Sixt locations in Türkiye are allowed under conditions depending on tarif.
International One-Way Rentals are not allowed.
In the case of unannounced and unauthorised one-way rentals, we reserve the right to charge an additional fee.
E-Scooter are available in Branches Istanbul Hilton and Izmir Karsiyaka subject to a fee and availability.
A charge is levied for the additional driver, whose details are noted in the lease only if the additional driver presents a valid driver's license.
Child seats are available subject to a fee.
All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be refilled prior to return to Sixt, otherwise the current prices per litre of petrol or diesel will be charged in addition to a refuelling fee.
If desired, the vehicle will be refuled according to currently available conditions after returning it to the station.
Delivery/Collection Service is on request. Please contact the local rental station.
Deliveries and collections are available at the local rental station subject to a fee.
Delivery/Collection Service within city limits (except Meet & Greet branches) is free of charge.
This service is available on request for an additional commitment fee outside opening times at selected locations.
The renter is obliged to report the vehicle back to SIXT at the end of the rental period.
All our vehicles are equipped with a ticket device. Sixt Türkiye will charge the amount incl. administration fee to the renter if a customer uses a toll road.
Winter tires are available subject to a fee and subject to availability.
Upon request, we will guarantee a vehicle with a diesel engine for a fee.
A premium location fee occurs for rentals at airport and train stations.
Out of opening hours service is available at selected stations. In this case, an additional charge applies for the provision of the service.
In case the car requires a special cleaning procedure (i.e. smell removal, animal pollution, spill of liquids etc.) after returning, a cleaning charge will apply.
