The renter and all approved drivers must be in possession of a full, valid driving licence. Furthermore, the following conditions apply depending on the issuing country of the driving licence.
Driving license printed with non Roman Alphabet (Arabic, Cyrillic etc) must be complemented by an International driving license.
Chinese, Korean and Japanese driving licenses are not accepted. These renters have to book the Driver Service.
Please show a valid driver's license and ID card/ passport at time of pick up.
Photocopies, digital licenses, Learner's Permits, and driver's licenses with driving restrictions will not be accepted.
Minimum age and possession of a valid driving license in Mongolia is:

Driving license for vehicle group SVAR must include approval for category D.
The following credit cards are accepted: Eurocard/Mastercard, AmericanExpress Card, VISA Card. Diners Club is not accepted. We do not accept any prepaid cards or debit cards (Visa Electron). The renter must be the owner of the indicated credit card.
Cash Payment is accepted.
Sixt CarExpress Servicecard (Advantage Circle) is only accepted in combination with a valid Credit Card.
Please note, that payments with credit card may require the PIN of the credit card.
An advance charge approval is obtained for the chosen means of payment as a security. The exact deposit is determined on collection since the amount is dependent on the vehicle.

When booking at a prepaid rate, the payment will be charged along with the total rental price (incl. booked extras and charges) prior to the rental. The driver and mode of payment shall be finalised at the time of reservation and cannot be changed. The confirmed credit card should be valid and available for presentation on collection of the vehicle. All extra costs that occur during the car rental will be charged to this credit card. A refund shall not be issued for non-collection, vehicle being collected late or returned early.
Changing Booking A prepaid booking can be changed up to 48 hours before the start of the rental (depending on availability) in return for a booking modification fee of 14,08 EUR. Any payment already made towards the rental will not be refunded; nor shall any differential amount be refunded if this modification leads to a lesser rental cost. Any changes made to a prepaid reservation may impact the rental rate. A change from a prepaid rate to a non-prepaid rate is not possible.
Cancellation
A booking can be cancelled before the rental begins. In the event of cancellation, the payment in advance already made towards the rental shall be paid back subject to a cancellation charge, which will be withheld and shall be in the amount of the rental charge ( including any extras and charges) for a maximum of 3 rental days. Cancellations or changes made within 24 hours of booking can be completed free of charge, provided the scheduled pick-up time is more than 48 hours away.
No-show In the event that the booked vehicle is not collected or not collected at the agreed time the rental charge already paid shall be withheld in full.
Protection coverage for the vehicle rented includes Third Party Liability with a maximum cover of 16,500,000.00 MNT for personal injuries and material damages.
Excluded from the protection is the use of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods. All protection as part of the rental contract will become void, in particular, if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle or if the driver of the vehicle does not possess the required driver's license at the time of the event giving rise to claim.
Loss damage waiver (incl. theft protection) removes the drivers responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of damage or theft.

If loss damage waiver (incl. theft protection) is not accepted the customer will be held liable for the full value of the car.
Excluded from the protection is driving the vehicle in prohibited areas set by official order or driving on ice, unbridged rivers and streams, foreshores and other off-road terrains.
If LDW is already included in the rates, the renter can choose Loss damage waiver (including Theft Protection) with reduced excess to reduce the Non-Waiverable Responsibility.

The sand and ash protection limits the renter's responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of sand and ash being blown onto the vehicle by the force of nature.
If sand and ash protection is accepted, customer is only responsible for the following amounts: 0.00 EUR
This protection is not included in LDW or Top Cover LDW. Without this protection the renter will be liable for the full amount of the damage.
Gravel protection removes the renter's responsibility of the vehicle in case of damages to windscreens, headlights and the car when gravel or rocks get thrown at the vehicle by another car.
This protection is not included in LDW or Top Cover LDW. Without this protection the renter will be liable for the full amount of the damage.
The tire and glass coverage provides protection for damages on tires, windscreen, side windows and the rear window with a deductible of EUR 0.00.
If the protection is not accepted, the customer will be held liable for the full extent of the damage.
Sixt will provide any renter who has purchased the optional Extended Roadside Protection coverage with 24/7 breakdown assistance (in a radius of 100km from the city center of Ulaanbaatar) without any additional charge. It protects the renter at home and abroad against high service and repair costs for the following incidents:
1) Key lockout service: If a renter experiences locking of the keys or key fob inside the vehicle during their rental period, Sixt will arrange a lockout service or a towing service for the vehicle to the nearest Sixt location.
2) Lost key or key fob: If a renter experiences a lost or misplaced key or key fob during their rental period, Sixt will cover the cost of replacing the key or key fob, cost of delivering a new set of keys (if available), towing of the vehicle to the nearest Sixt location and for a replacement vehicle.
3) Flat tire service: If a renter experiences a flat tire during their rental period due to a puncture, Sixt will cover the cost of repairing or replacing the tire, cost of delivering a new vehicle, towing of the vehicle to the nearest Sixt location. Damages caused by collision will not be covered, please see Loss Damage Waiver.
4) Dead Battery: If a renter experiences a situation during their rental period, Sixt will cover the cost of jumpstart service, by either the vehicle manufacturer or by a 3rd party service provider, cost of delivering a new vehicle or towing of the vehicle to the nearest Sixt location.
5) Towing: If a renter experiences a mechanical failure of the vehicle during their rental period, Sixt will cover the cost of towing, by either the vehicle manufacturer or by a 3rd party service provider, cost of delivering a new vehicle or towing of the vehicle to the nearest Sixt location. Damages caused by collision will not be covered, please see Loss Damage Waiver.
6) Breakdown caused by empty fuel tank: If a renter experiences a breakdown due to running out of fuel, Sixt will cover the costs for breakdown assistance. The fuel costs will not be covered.
All services may only be ordered by a direct claim with Sixt 24-hour Roadside Protection. Sixt will determine the type and extent of service required to ensure the renter stays mobile. If any damage to the rental vehicle occurs which is not covered by Sixt within the scope of the Extended Roadside Protection, the renter is liable for such damage. The road side protection services outside the 100km radius from Ulaanbaatar are subject to an additional charge of 4.000 MNT per kilometer for the driving distance outside the radius to the renter.
Excluded from the protection is driving the vehicle in prohibited areas set by official order or driving on ice, unbridged rivers and streams, foreshores, sand-dunes and other off-road terrains. Off-road terrains are all non paved roads and terrains. The following cars can be driven off-road up to 15 km next to official roads but not on ice, unbridged rivers and streams and sand dunes: -FFAR e.g.: Jeep Wrangler -FFMR e.g.: Nissan Patrol Y61
Cross Border Rentals are not allowed.
Accessories are bookable without obligation and subject to availability.
One-way rentals within Sixt locations in Mongolia are allowed under conditions depending on tarif.
International One-Way Rentals are not allowed.
In the case of unannounced and unauthorised one-way rentals, we reserve the right to charge an additional fee.
A charge is levied for the additional driver, whose details are noted in the lease only if the additional driver presents a valid driver's license.
Baby seats, child seats and booster seats are available subject to a fee.
All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be refilled prior to return to Sixt, otherwise the current prices per litre of petrol or diesel will be charged in addition to a refuelling fee.
If desired, the vehicle will be refuled according to currently available conditions after returning it to the station.
Alternatively, you may purchase a tankful of fuel at the time of rental at a price that is competitive with local fuel stations and return the tank empty. No refunds will be given for unused fuel.

Within Ulaanbaatar city limits a Delivery/Collection Service charge applies.
This service is available on request for an additional commitment fee outside opening times at selected locations.
The renter is obliged to report the vehicle back to SIXT at the end of the rental period.
Wi-Fi is available subject to a fee.
Snow chains are available subject to a fee.
The Camping Set includes: a tent for 2-3 persons, 1 Air Pump, 1 Camping Box (you can also carry the set in your backpack instead), 2 sleeping mats, 1 Air Sofa, 1 Gas Stove including 2x 500ml gas bottles, Pot, Pan, Bowl, Espresso Mokka Maker, Dining utensils for 4 (plates, bowls, forks, knives, spoons) Not included are sleeping bags, beverages and food. Please bring your own supplies.

By choosing the driver service a Sixt driver will be supplied for 10 consecutive hours per day between 8 am and 6 pm. Additional hours and services outside business hours are available at the local branch. The customer remains liable for the condition of the vehicle except when the vehicle is physically moved by the Sixt driver.
Driver services are available within respective city limits and any trip outside the city limits will need to be coordinated with the Sixt location in advance. Additional charges for leaving the city limits may arise and will be charged extra locally. Please contact the local branch for more information.
A premium location fee occurs for rentals at airport and train stations.
The Carbon Neutralization Charge covers the neutralization of 52.8kg CO2 emitted by the rental car per day (based on average driving distance of 100km) by the planting of trees in Mongolia.
Out of opening hours service is available at selected stations. In this case, an additional charge applies for the provision of the service.
The renter is liable for payment of all traffic/parking fines occuring during the rental.
If the renter has a traffic/parking fine during the rental the renter will be charged an Administration Fee together with the first settlement-proposition.
A Vehicle License Fee occurs.
In case the car requires a special cleaning procedure (i.e. smell removal, animal pollution, spill of liquids etc.) after returning, a cleaning charge will apply.
All rates are inclusive of VAT (if VAT incurs). For corporate customers with individual agreements alternative prices and regulations can apply.
