Pick up your rental car from one station and drop it off at another station with Sixt’s one-way car rental deals. We even have several routes with no one-way charge! For example, you can usually travel between our stations in Florida, California, Texas and Nevada for no fee. This, however, excludes rentals between airport and downtown locations in the same city. There are one-way rentals available at other Sixt stations, but be sure to check our online booking system or contact a specific branch to find out about fees and availability.
Popular One-Way Rental Routes
Sixt offers several one-way rental options between stations that have no fee. Here are some of the most popular routes.
Los Angeles to Las Vegas: The most-direct way from the City of Angels to the City of Sin is about 270 miles, or roughly 4 hours of driving.
San Francisco to LA: Take the fast way from San Francisco to LA, Interstate 5, which is about 380 miles in 6 hours.
Miami to Orlando: You will cover about 235 miles in this 3.5-hour drive through Florida. Please be aware that this route has tolls.
Benefits of a One-Way Car Rental
Flexibility is a big reason people choose to rent a car one way. If you are moving from one city to another and need to transport some items, an SUV or minivan is the perfect vehicle. Or maybe you need a car for only part of a trip. Travel plans can also change, and a one-way rental is useful in case of a canceled flight or train. There are many possibilities of one-way rental routes, but be sure to check availability at the branch you wish to rent from.
Cross-Border Driving Restrictions
In most cases you are allowed to take your rental car into neighboring states. And if you rent in Illinois or Washington state, you can even cross over into a Canadian province! Just be sure to check what the territorial restrictions are from the state you plan to rent from before planning your one-way rental adventures.
