What happens if I return my SIXT car late?

After-hours and late returns

If you return the vehicle later than agreed in the rental contract, the additional days will be charged as a rental extension. If you do not inform SIXT in advance, an additional service fee will apply.

The easiest solution: extend your rental on the SIXT website or in the SIXT app as soon as you know you will be returning the vehicle late.

Extending in advance avoids extra costs

  • Letting us know before the return time is always cheaper than returning late without notice

  • If you inform SIXT beforehand, only a small handling fee applies for adjusting the return date, time or location

After-hours returns

  • You can generally return your vehicle after hours
