Every SIXT rental car comes with third-party liability insurance and basic Loss Damage Waiver / theft cover with a standard deductible. You can reduce your deductible by adding optional protection — right down to zero. Intentional damage, gross negligence and breaches of the rental agreement are not covered by any protection package.

Third-party liability insurance — covers damage caused to third parties by the rental car, in line with statutory requirements
Loss Damage Waiver / theft cover — protects the rental car against damage or theft up to the amount of the standard deductible
24/7 SIXT Roadside Assistance — immediate help with breakdowns, tyre damage, battery problems or lockouts
Optional add-ons
Deductible reduction — reduces your deductible in case of damage to a lower fixed amount
Loss Damage Waiver with zero deductible — removes your deductible entirely for covered damage
Tyre and Glass Protection — covers damage to tyres, the windscreen, side and rear windows and mirrors
Interior Protection — covers soiling or damage to the vehicle's interior that would otherwise result in a cleaning or repair charge
Personal Accident Insurance — protects you and your passengers against personal injury during the rental period
Not covered by any package
Intentional damage or gross negligence
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Breaches of the rental agreement (e.g. unauthorised drivers, off-road driving, travel to non-permitted countries)
Loss of personal belongings — please use your travel or home contents insurance
Administration fees for traffic offences
