What can I change online and what only at the SIXT branch?

Change or modify a booking

You can make most changes — dates, times, locations, extras and protection package — online on the SIXT website or in the SIXT app. To switch to a different vehicle category, message us on WhatsApp or Live Chat. Some changes are only possible at the branch on the day of pick-up.

Online — any time before pick-up

  • Pick-up and return date, time and location

  • One-way adjustment (subject to availability) and mileage packages

  • Extras: additional driver, child seat, GPS, winter tyres, prepaid fuel

  • Protection package

Via WhatsApp or Live Chat — we'll take care of it

  • Vehicle category change — we'll check availability and adjust your booking for you

  • Special requests for existing bookings

  • Changes to renter/driver details

  • For UK reservations: Visit the Continent fees

At the branch only

  • Vehicle category upgrade at pick-up (subject to availability)

  • Adding or removing an additional driver after pick-up (during an ongoing rental)

Exception

Third-party bookings (travel agents, brokers, tour operators) can only be changed by the provider you booked with.
