How do I cancel my SIXT booking?

Cancel a booking

Cancel your SIXT booking online in under a minute — open My Bookings on the SIXT website or in the SIXT app, tap Cancel and confirm. Flexi bookings can be cancelled free of charge up to pick-up; for Prepaid rates, a fixed cancellation fee applies depending on when you cancel.

How to cancel online

  1. Sign in on the SIXT website or open the SIXT app

  2. Open your booking under My Bookings

  3. Tap Cancel and confirm

  4. Your cancellation confirmation arrives by email straight away

Cancellation fees

  • Flexi: free of charge up to the scheduled start of the rental. A no-show fee may apply if you do not pick up the vehicle

  • Prepaid: free of charge within 24 hours of booking, provided pick-up is still more than 48 hours away. After that, a fixed cancellation fee applies up to the start of the rental; any prepaid amount above this fee is refunded. In case of no-show, the full prepaid amount is retained

After cancellation

  • For Prepaid bookings, the amount already paid — minus any applicable cancellation fee — is refunded to the original payment method (credit card, PayPal or Apple Pay). Processing time depends on your bank or provider and usually takes 5–10 business days

  • For Flexi bookings, no refund applies as payment is only taken at pick-up
