Sometimes plans change and you no longer need a car rental, or you need to make an amendment to your reservation. Here you can find out information about charges for canceling a reservation, how to go about extending a rental if you need a car for longer than expected, or how to amend a reservation.

I am currently in the rental with Sixt, how can I extend the Rental Agreement?

All rentals can be extended up to five additional days. You can easily extend your active rental here. If you need an extension over the length of five days, this will require a new reservation and rental agreement. Please give us a call at +1 888 sixt car(7498 227) or via our Help Center for your extension needs.

You can easily change the return station during your active rental here.

Is there a fee to cancel a reservation?

If you have booked a pay later reservation, there is no charge to cancel or make changes to the reservation. Please locate the security code on your confirmation email and cancel or make changes here. If you are unable to make the changes you require via the website, you can also contact us via mail [email protected].

If you have booked a prepaid reservation, a cancellation fee may apply. This cancellation varies but can be up to three days of the rental. If you want to cancel your prepaid reservation, please locate the security code on your confirmation email and cancel or make changes here. If you are unable to make the changes you require via the website, you can also contact our Reservation Team: [email protected].

Please note that you can change your reservation for just $0.01 until December 31st, 2020. Additionally, for corporate customers with individual agreements alternative prices and regulations can apply.

How much notice must I give to cancel a reservation?

Cancellations can be made at any point prior to the start of the rental.

Please note, if you do not cancel your prepaid prior to the start of your rental and you did not pick up your rental, the full amount of the rental will be charged.

How do I change or cancel a reservation?

Will I be charged if I make a change to my prepaid reservation?

SIXT offers you full flexibility so that you can stay mobile and make your travel plans with confidence. Bookings made with the "Pay online" option can be changed for only $0.01 until December 31st, 2020. If your change leads to a price increase, only the difference in tariff will apply. No additional rebooking fee will be charged.
