Have used this branch at least 5 times in the last 2 years. Always a rather reliable experience but I am aware of how to say no to unnecessary extras.
Do make sure you have adequate insurance, either from sixt or elsewhere as any damage however small will cost rather large amounts of going without. I did get a rather large bill for a mark on one of my recent rentals, wasn't sure how it happened, think someone opened a door into it when it was parked up. But I did have external cover to pay the fee.
I always choose electronic toll, it's only couple of euros a day.
I don't pay for fuel, I know where the local fuel station is to fill up before returning the car.
I have tried automatics and manuals, though you tend to get a nicer car with automatics. As many manual boxes seem to be abused probably by drivers who are learning to use a manual box on the other side when they are coming from the UK.
The cheap CDMR type cars are very cheap to rent, possibly the cheapest in southern Europe, but the nicer F and L kind of cars are even more expensive to rent than in Germany.
Service staff are always well mannered and welcoming. The cars are cleaned well and fairly new but not always. As I have had one that had covered nearly 15k kilometres! Which was disappointing.
But on another occasion I had a car that had covered just 200 kilometres.
I'm sure I'll be back to rent again, so let's see.
