When embarking on a vacation in Jasionka there are many reasons to rent a car, the main reason being that so much history and so many human events have occurred in the region that a car is vital to seeing as much as possible. UNESCO world Heritage Sites lay just outside Jasionka, including Krakow's Old Center and the village of Sekowa. The village of Sekowa is just 12 miles from Jesionka and dates back as far as the 14th century, with one of six wooden churches still visible from the 16th century available to be viewed. To the south of Jesionka lies the border with Slovakia and its stunning landscapes and Winter sports. In the Winter months take the short drive from Jasionka to Zakopane, the top Alpine sports destination in the country. A more sobering, but equally important drive can be taken to the sites of the Auschwitz concentration camps that are a short journey from Jasionka.
