What to See in Eisenach
Eisenach is best known for the Wartburg, which became a UNSECO World Heritage site in 1999. It was here where Martin Luther stayed under a false name for almost one year and translated the New Testament from Greek to German, which was first published in 1522. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe spent much time there writing, sketching and finding much inspiration. The Wartburg is also the center of many legends and lore. With your car rental you will be free to roam around to your hearts content and who knows what you will discover! The beloved composer Johann Sebastian Bach was born in Eisenach and today you can drive up in your car rental to visit the Bachhaus, where you can learn about his life and his music, even enjoy a lecture with songs played on original instruments from that time.
