  • 20.02.2012- The city of Wroclaw!

    Wroclaw, the city of bridges, situated on the River Odra is called by many the Polish Venice. It is the place of meetings and outings for thousands of tourists and the city of greatevents. Academic city, in which is located one of the oldest universities in Poland as well as in Europe, The University of Wroclaw, which was founded in 1702. Since 1946 Wroclaw has beenthe capital of Lower Silesia. Funded in IX-X century, Wroclaw (lat. Vratislavia or Budorgis, ger. Breslau) becomes an inherent part of polish history. The name of the city comes from the name of Czech prince Vratislaus I, who ruled the city in X century and, according to the legends, was the founder.

    The early town was created in Ostrów Tumski, an island between branches of the Oder River. Today, Wroclaw stretches out for over 300 km square and is inhabited by almost 650 thousand dwellers. The city lures the tourists by offering them such attractions like mentioned before Ostrów Tumski, the Old Town, The Marked Square with the Town Hall, The Centennial Hall, which was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Raclawice Panorama.

    As for the contemporary attractions, those which are worth seeing are the Wroclaw Multimedia Fountain, the Japanese Garden, and a new Municipal Stadium Wroclaw is also the city of great investments.Their head offices have companies like Siemens, Volvo, Hewlett-Packard WABCO Polska, Whirpool Polar, Wrozamet SA.

    In the city can be also found Wroclawski Technological Park, in which is located many companies like Innovative Software Technologies, Mitsubischi Electric, ContiTech, Ericsson, Technology Transfer Agency TECHTRA and plenty of others. Soon, it is about to be opened a new IBMIT center, which will employ 3 thousand office workers. Wroclaw won the battle for this center with cities like Katowice, Cairo or Budapest.

    New flights from Wroclaw

    Finally, the Ryanair base in Wroclaw has been opened. It is the second base in this part of Europa and the first one in Poland. Thanks to this, new 7 connections have been opened giving the passengers the opportunity to fly to such cities like Crete Chania, Malta, Malmo, Venice Treviso, Pisa, Paris Beauvais and Bournemouth. What is more, Wroclaw is opening new connections with other Polish cities like Lodz, Gdansk and Warsaw. All flights are operated by OLT Express.

    Finally, the new Wroclaw Airport at Graniczna 190 Street is fully operational. The first plane took off on the 11th of March at 05:00 in the morning. I also have the pleasure to inform You that You can find us in the brand new office in the Rent a car Zone of the arrivals hall!

    100 days to European Football Championships!

    The city of Wroclaw is finishing the preparation for the championships. 100 days before that event, the city has terminated 3 huge projects! On the September 2011 the dwellers of Wroclaw could admire the first great events at the new Municipal Stadium. Then on the December, the Motorway Bypass of Wroclaw was officially opened for the traffic and connected the A4 Motorway with the road to Warsaw. Finally, the new Airport which has been opened on the February 2012 and now will be able to handle 3 Million passengers each year. We hereby invite you to spend the wanderful time in Wroclaw!

    Official openinig of the new Wroclaw Airport!

    We are right after the opening ceremony of the new Wroclaw Airport. On the 28th of February the local authorities together with the eminent people and those who contributed to the realization of this huge project officially opened the building. However, we will have to wait a bit until the first plane takes off from the new terminal.

    Open days of a new airport in Wroclaw!

    The 25 and 26 of February were the open days of a new airport during which people from Wroclaw could visit the whole building without having special passes. It is estimated that during those two days the airport was visited by 26 thousand people, who could enjoy their time in the airport restaurants or taking part in prepared by airport staff attractions.
