  • History: The Turner Turnpike opened in 1953 and is the oldest of the state’s 10 turnpikes. It is named after Governor Roy J. Turner who spurred the construction of the toll road in order to connect Oklahoma’s two largest cities. +
  • How to Use: K-Tag holders and NTTA users can use the Turnpike at a discounted rate. E-ZPass is not accepted.
  • When to Use: The legal speed limit on the Turnpike is 75mph making it possible to drive from Tulsa to downtown Oklahoma City in less than 90 minutes. It has also has interchanges near the following Oklahoma cities: Welston, Chandler, Stroud, Bristow; and near Kellyville and Sapulpa.
  • Discounts: Electronically paid tolls are reduced.
