Because while you pause your subscription, every car you hand in can be used efficiently and according to your needs with other subscribers instead of sitting unused in the garage. This will sustainably reduce the number of vehicles that our subscribers need in total and you will contribute to the careful use of resources.\n\nHere's everything you need to know about pausing your subscription.","articles":[{"text":"Pause subscriptions","href":"/plus/help-center/articles/pause/","content":"<p data-start=\"7\" data-end=\"729\"><strong data-start=\"7\" data-end=\"43\">How can I pause my subscription?</strong><br data-start=\"43\" data-end=\"46\">You can pause your subscription at any time for a period of 14 days up to a maximum of 90 days, conveniently via the SIXT app. Simply go to <strong data-start=\"186\" data-end=\"233\">MY ACTIVE SUBSCRIPTION &gt; PAUSE SUBSCRIPTION</strong> and select the desired start and end date for your pause. The pause will begin after the vehicle has been returned successfully on the announced start date of the subscription pause. If the vehicle is not returned in time before the announced start of the pause, your pause option will automatically expire and your SIXT+ car subscription contract will continue on a paid basis. To resume your subscription, simply pick up your vehicle at your SIXT branch on the specified end date of the pause.</p>\n<p data-start=\"731\" data-end=\"908\"><strong data-start=\"731\" data-end=\"743\">Example:</strong> Suppose your current billing period runs from September 1 to September 30 and you would like to pause your subscription from September 15 to October 15 (30 days).</p>\n<ul data-start=\"909\" data-end=\"1489\">\n<li data-start=\"909\" data-end=\"1065\">\n<p data-start=\"911\" data-end=\"1065\">Let us know in the SIXT app under <strong data-start=\"945\" data-end=\"992\">MY ACTIVE SUBSCRIPTION &gt; PAUSE SUBSCRIPTION</strong> that you want to pause starting September 15 and resume on October 15.</p>\n</li>\n<li data-start=\"1066\" data-end=\"1188\">\n<p data-start=\"1068\" data-end=\"1188\">Return your vehicle on September 15 (start date of the pause) at a SIXT branch. The pause then begins on September 15.</p>\n</li>\n<li data-start=\"1189\" data-end=\"1489\">\n<p data-start=\"1191\" data-end=\"1489\">You used the vehicle from September 1 to September 14 (14 days). The unused days of this billing period (September 15 to September 30) will be credited to you at the start of the billing period following the pause, provided that you pick up your vehicle on the agreed resumption date of October 15.</p>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p data-start=\"1491\" data-end=\"1744\"><strong data-start=\"1491\" data-end=\"1529\">What costs apply during the pause?</strong><br data-start=\"1529\" data-end=\"1532\">During the pause, no monthly costs are charged. This gives you more flexibility, saves you money, and also reduces your CO2 footprint. Of course, no new start fee will be charged when you resume the subscription.</p>\n<p data-start=\"1746\" data-end=\"2264\"><strong data-start=\"1746\" data-end=\"1827\">Do I have to pay a deposit again when picking up the vehicle after the pause?</strong><br data-start=\"1827\" data-end=\"1830\">Yes. Please note that when you pick up the vehicle again, a deposit will be blocked again. The amount depends on the vehicle category and can be found in the rental information. Please ensure that your credit limit is sufficient for the booked vehicle category. The amount will be released back to your credit card after the end of the first 30-day subscription period. Further information can be found in the SIXT rental information.</p>\n<p data-start=\"2266\" data-end=\"2495\"><strong data-start=\"2266\" data-end=\"2320\">What happens to my mileage vault during the pause?</strong><br data-start=\"2320\" data-end=\"2323\">The kilometers you have accumulated in your mileage vault over the past months do not expire during the pause and will still be available after you resume the subscription.</p>\n<p data-start=\"2497\" data-end=\"2822\"><strong data-start=\"2497\" data-end=\"2548\">From when and for how long is a pause possible?</strong><br data-start=\"2548\" data-end=\"2551\">A pause is possible for a period of 14 days up to 90 days (3 months).<br data-start=\"2620\" data-end=\"2623\">You can pause at any time. If the pause starts within a billing period that is already in progress, the unused days will be credited as soon as you pick up your vehicle on the agreed resumption date.</p>\n<p data-start=\"2824\" data-end=\"3497\"><strong data-start=\"2824\" data-end=\"2872\">What happens to my vehicle during the pause?</strong><br data-start=\"2872\" data-end=\"2875\">Every car that is returned instead of sitting unused in a garage is used efficiently and as needed by other subscribers. This sustainably reduces the total number of vehicles needed by subscribers. Since a large part of emissions arises during vehicle production, fewer vehicles produced also means lower CO2 consumption. A pause therefore gives you more flexibility, saves you money, and also reduces your CO2 footprint.<br data-start=\"3296\" data-end=\"3299\">When you resume your subscription, you will receive a vehicle from the vehicle category you booked. Please understand, however, that we cannot provide you with the same vehicle as before your pause.</p>\n<p data-start=\"3499\" data-end=\"3746\"><strong data-start=\"3499\" data-end=\"3539\">Can I pause during the minimum term?</strong><br data-start=\"3539\" data-end=\"3542\">Pausing during the minimum term is also possible.
