We&#8217;ve rounded up some of the important rules and regulations, speed limits, and other information you should know before driving on the 3 islands that make up the Cayman Islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rules and Regulations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Drive on the left-hand side of the road.<\/li><li>Seat belts must be worn by all occupants of the vehicle.<\/li><li>Any child traveling in a motor vehicle must wear a seatbelt and if under the age of 14 must sit in the rear of the vehicle. A rear-facing child&#8217;s car seat must not be fitted in a seat with a front airbag.<\/li><li>The legal blood alcohol limit is 0.100% (100mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood).<\/li><li>Turning left on a red light after a full stop is allowed and legal.<\/li><li>The use of a mobile phone while driving is strictly forbidden unless you are using a hands-free set.<\/li><li>Always drive around a roundabout in a clockwise direction and give way to traffic approaching from the right. Once on a roundabout, do not stop to admit cars entering the roundabout from the left. Watch out for cars in the right-hand lane. If they are to your right and slightly ahead and they want to turn left, they have the right of way.<\/li><li>At a four-way junction, the car who enters the junction first has the right of way.<\/li><li>All drivers must give way to pedestrians at pedestrian crossings.<\/li><li>You cannot overtake if there is a solid single or double white or yellow line in the center of the road.<\/li><li>The turning lane in the center of some roads is designed to help drivers turn right across traffic. The lane should never be used for overtaking.<\/li><li>When a school bus has its lights flashing and has stopped to allow children to get on or off, drivers are NOT permitted to pass the bus. Any variations will be signposted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>Within city limits<\/strong><\/td><td>25-30 mph (40-48 km\/h)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Outside city limits<\/strong><\/td><td>40 mph (64 km\/h)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Motorways<\/strong><\/td><td>50 mph (80 km\/h)<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Additional Information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The use of fogs lights is not allowed. <\/li><li>You must have held your driver&#8217;s license for 2 years to rent a car here.<\/li><li>Drivers between 21 and 70 years old are allowed to rent a car.<\/li><li>You must get a visitor&#8217;s driver&#8217;s license, available from your car rental agency like SIXT.<\/li><li>There are no toll roads in the Cayman Islands.<\/li><li>Parking is free throughout the islands and readily available.<\/li><li>A vehicle carrying an overhanging load must mark the load with a red flag of at least 1ft. x 1ft.
