Our optional protection products are designed to help limit your financial responsibility if something goes wrong during your rental. This may include damage to or theft of the rental vehicle, as well as costs resulting from an accident where another person is injured or their property is damaged.
Without protection, you may be responsible for the full cost of repairing or replacing the rental vehicle if it is damaged or stolen. You may also be responsible for costs related to claims made by others involved in an accident.

Roadside Assistance Protection (optional add-on)
With Roadside Assistance Protection, we cover the cost of certain roadside services, for example:
Lost key replacement
Flat tire service
Jump-starts
Lockouts
Even without Roadside Assistance Protection, we'll still arrange help for you — but the cost of these services may be billed to you.
Liability coverage
If you are involved in an accident while driving the rental vehicle, you may be personally responsible for costs beyond damage to the rental vehicle itself. This could include medical expenses for injured passengers in another vehicle, repairs to another person's vehicle or property, and legal expenses related to the accident. These costs can be significant and difficult to predict.
Rental Liability Insurance (RLI) and Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) are optional products designed to help protect you from paying these costs out of pocket. If you do not purchase either option, your personal auto insurance policy may need to provide coverage for these situations, subject to the terms and limits of your policy.
Rental Liability Insurance (RLI) — can be purchased on its own
Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI300) — cannot be purchased on its own; only available as part of the Peace of Mind protection package

Damage and theft coverage
Reduce your financial responsibility for damage to or theft of the rental vehicle. Choose one:
Availability of Partial Damage Waiver, Loss Damage Waiver with $1,000 deductible, and Personal Accident Coverage varies by state — sign in or check with your branch to confirm what's available for your rental.
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) — removes your deductible entirely for covered damage. Available for an additional daily charge.
Partial Damage Waiver (PDW) — SIXT covers the first $500 of damage to or loss of the vehicle; you're responsible for any amount above that. Available for an additional daily charge.
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) with $1,000 deductible — reduces your responsibility to a fixed $1,000 in the event of damage or loss. Available for an additional daily charge.
Additional coverage
Personal Property Coverage (PPC) — covers damage to personal belongings owned by you, immediate family members traveling with you, or an additional driver, while in the rental vehicle or in a hotel. Available for an additional daily charge.
Personal Accident Coverage (PAC) — protects you and your passengers against personal injury during the rental period. Available for an additional daily charge.

Exclusions from protection coverage
These are never covered, regardless of which protection package you choose:
Intentional damage or gross negligence
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Breaches of the rental agreement (e.g., unauthorized drivers, off-road driving, travel to non-permitted countries)
Not covered by protection packages
Loss or theft of personal belongings (PPC covers damage only, not loss or theft)
Administration fees for traffic offenses
