WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO USE SIXT FASTLANE?

I don't have the SIXT app yet
  1. Download the latest version of the SIXT App.
  2. Create a new login or sign in with your existing SIXT login in the app. Please activate Bluetooth and Push Notifications when setting up the app.  
  3. Complete your profile: open the "Account" tab, click on "Activate now" and complete your data. Please have your driver's license and ID card or passport ready. We will check your data and activate your account as quickly as possible.     
I have the SIXT app & a SIXT login
  1. Register in the app with your existing SIXT login. Please activate Bluetooth and Push Notifications when setting up the app.  
  2. Complete your profile: open the "Account" tab, click on "Activate now" and complete your data. Please have your driver's license and ID card or passport ready. We will check your data and activate your account as quickly as possible.

That's perfect, you are ready to go. If your upcoming reservation meets the requirements of SIXT fastlane, you will receive an invitation by e-mail a few days prior to the start of your rental  In addition, you will receive a push notification from 30 minutes prior to the start of your rental inviting you to select your desired vehicle.

RESERVATIONS ELIGIBLE FOR SIXT FASTLANE

SIXT fastlane is currently available at selected locations for selected vehicle categories. For this reason, we will personally invite you to use SIXT fastlane via push message and/or e-mail.

Your reservation must meet the following requirements, among others:

  • Existing SIXT card number or SIXT customer number
  • Reservation in the vehicle category:
    • Compact (vehicle group starting with C)
    • Intermediate (vehicle group starting with I)
    • Standard (vehicle group starting with S)
    • Full size (vehicle group starting with F)
    • Premium (vehicle group starting with P)
    • Luxury (some vehicle groups starting with L)
  • Credit card used for reservation with option "pay now" must be the same than the one, that is stored in booking profile within the app. 
  • No physical extras booked, such as child seat, snow chains, etc.
  • No selection of the "second driver" option
  • A valid means of payment must be deposited when registering in the app

  • Vehicle pick up: via SIXT fastlane 
  • Vehicle return: As usual at the designated parking spaces. Please hand over the key of the fully refueled car to the responsible employee or put it in the key box.
  • Currently available in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and in United Kingdom at numerous airports, railway stations and selected SIXT stations in the city centre. We are gradually expanding the availability of SIXT fastlane.

APP ONLY SIXT STATIONS - RENT 24/7 IN YOUR VICINITY

  • Vehicle pick-up and return: via SIXT fastlane. Please note, that you won't find any SIXT counter or SIXT personnel at these locations. 
  • Vehicle pick up: follow the directions in the SIXT app as well as the signs on site. 
  • Vehicle return: Park the fully refueled vehicle at the designated parking spaces, put the vehicle key in the glove compartment. End the rental via the SIXT app. Please stay close to the vehicle until the app confirms that the rental is ended. .
  • App Only stations complement the existing station network in major cities so that you can reach SIXT even easier and find a rental car at any time of the day or night.

What is SIXT fastlane?

SIXT fastlane is a mobility service that is available to you after a one-time registration. With SIXT fastlane you can select the vehicle of your choice up to 30 minutes before pickup via the SIXT app, then go directly to the location of your rental car without passing by the counter. Simply open it with the app and start the rental process. The SIXT app will guide you to your vehicle.

How can I use SIXT fastlane?

SIXT fastlane is currently offered at selected SIXT stations at airports, railway stations and in some major cities in Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. Further stations and countries will follow shortly. If your reservation meets the requirements for SIXT fastlane, you will receive a personal invitation by e-mail a few days before your rental. You will also receive a push message asking you to select the car of your choice 30 minutes before the start of the rental period.

To use SIXT fastlane a one-time registration in the SIXT app is necessary. Please open the tab "Account" in the SIXT app and click on the button "Unlock now". The app will guide you through the registration process. We will then check your data and activate it as soon as possible. 

If your reservation is not shown within the SIXT App, you can easily import it manually. Simply open the "Account" tab and select "My Bookings". Click on "+ Import Reservation" and fill in your reservation number and security code stated on your reservation confirmation. 

How does SIXT fastlane work? What do I have to consider when using SIXT fastlane for the first time?

Reserve a vehicle as usual with SIXT. If your reservation is suitable for SIXT fastlane, you will receive an e-mail with a personal invitation to register for the service a few days before your rental.

Please open the "Account" tab in the SIXT app and click on the "Activate now" button. The app will guide you through the registration process. We will then check your data and activate it as soon as possible.

From 30 minutes before the start of the rental period, you will receive a push message and an invitation to select the vehicle of your choice from the fleet available at your SIXT station. Please confirm your selection and go directly to your vehicle. Directions can be found in the app. Open the vehicle with the SIXT app and start the rental. Please activate the Bluetooth and mobile phone connection. The vehicle key is located in the glove compartment.

I was invited by e-mail to use SIXT fastlane. What do I have to do now?

For the use of SIXT fastlane a one-time registration in the SIXT app is necessary. Please open the "Account" tab and click on the "Activate now" button. In order to register, we need the following information from you:

  1. Contact details
  2. Driver’s license
  3. Personal ID or passport
  4. Valid payment method

We will then check your data and activate it as quickly as possible.

I can't find my reservation in the app. What should I do?

If your reservation does not automatically appear in the app, you can import it yourself at any time. Click on "My Bookings" in the "Account" tab and add your reservation by entering the reservation number and security code in the appropriate field. You will find both of these numbers in your reservation confirmation.
 

What do I need to know to choose the vehicle I want?

At SIXT fastlane you can choose your desired vehicle from the available fleet of vehicles at your rental station 30 minutes before the start of the rental period. Open your reservation in the app and the list of available vehicles will be displayed.

In order to offer you the greatest possible availability in the service, you may also see other vehicle categories in the selection list than those you reserved. Choose your preferred vehicle from the list without changing the price of your rental.

I have chosen my desired vehicle but would now like to have another vehicle. Can I change my selection?

In the SIXT app, it is not possible to change the desired vehicle at a later date. If you would rather have another vehicle than the one you have reserved, please go to the SIXT counter and contact an employee.

I have reserved my desired vehicle, but would prefer to rent it as usual at the SIXT counter. Is that possible?

Of course you can change your mind at any time. You are welcome to contact a SIXT employee at the counter.

How do I find my rental car?

The directions to the location of your vehicle can be found in the SIXT app. The SIXT fastlane parking lots are usually marked with the following sign:  fastlane

I'd like to use SIXT fastlane, but I can't find my reservation within the SIXT App. What should I do?

If your reservation is not shown within the SIXT App, you can easily import it manually. Simply open the "Account" tab and select "My Bookings". Click on "+ Import Reservation" and fill in your reservation number and security code stated on your reservation confirmation. 

I got an invitation to SIXT fastlane, but now I don't see any vehicles in the app.

It may happen that SIXT fastlane vehicles are no longer available at your pick-up station. In this case we look forward to welcoming you as usual at our SIXT counter. Our employees will do their utmost to provide you with the vehicle of your choice in the booked category.

How do I open the vehicle?

With SIXT fastlane you open the vehicle with the SIXT app. Go near the vehicle and click on the button "Open vehicle" in the app. Please activate the Bluetooth and mobile phone connection of your smartphone.

Where is the vehicle key?

The key is located in the glove compartment of the vehicle. You will be alerted by a pop-up in the app after opening the vehicle.

How to return the vehicle?

VEHICLE RETURN AT A CLASSIC SIXT STATION

The return of your SIXT rental car takes place as usual by parking the vehicle at the designated parking spaces. Please hand over the key of the fully refueled car to the responsible employee or put it in the key box.

VEHICLE RETURN AT AN APP ONLY SIXT STATION

You can return your SIXT rental car via the SIXT app. Please park the fully refueled vehicle in the designated parking spaces, place the vehicle key in the glove compartment, and end the rental via the SIXT app. Please stay close to the car until the SIXT app confirms the end of the rental period.

My vehicle cannot be opened via the app. What should I do?

Please make sure that the Bluetooth and mobile connection of your smartphone is activated and try again. If you have any problems, please contact a SIXT employee at your rental station.

I’d like to report damage to the vehicle.

Please check any previous damage to the vehicle before the start of the rental period and report any new damage. You can find a sketch of the previous damage to your vehicle in the SIXT app.

To report new damage, please contact a SIXT employee onsite or contact our customer service at: + 49 (0) 89 66 060 060 (daily from 7:00 am – 9:00 pm).

I use a company rate. Can I still use SIXT fastlane?

Of course, you can also use SIXT fastlane at your company rates, provided that you register once for the service and deposit your associated card/customer number in the app. To register in the SIXT app, open the "Account" tab and click the "Activate now" button. The app will guide you through the registration process. We will then check your data and activate it as soon as possible.

To enter your card/customer number, please open the "Account" tab and click on "Add existing SIXT card as profile" under "Booking profiles".

I am a SIXT unlimited customer. Can I use SIXT fastlane?

SIXT fastlane is ideal for our frequent customers. Register once by opening the "Account" tab in the SIXT app and clicking the "Unlock now" button. The app will then guide you through the registration process. We will check your data and activate it as soon as possible.

Enter your card/customer number in the SIXT app by opening the "Account" tab and clicking on "Add existing SIXT card as profile" under "Booking profiles".

SIXT unlimited subscriptions for the vehicle groups beginning with L and X are excluded from use of SIXT fastlane.
