-Speed Limits: The speed limit is set at 30 mph (50 km/h) in urban areas, while on rural roads it ranges between 43-62 mph (70-100 km/h), and on highways it's 56-75 mph (90-120 km/h).
-Toll Roads: The AP-7 is a toll road running along the Mediterranean coast, connecting various cities, including Barcelona and Valencia. Other toll roads are the AP-6 and AP-51, serving areas around Madrid.
-Low Emission Zones: In cities like Madrid and Barcelona, check for low emissions zones. Our SIXT staff can advise on the local regulations that apply.
-Right turn on red: Unless indicated by a sign, turning right on red is prohibited.
-Parking: Parking within 5 meters of a bend or intersection is prohibited, while paid parking areas are indicated by specific road signs.

You can rent a car one way between SIXT stations in Spain, depending on the tariff. One-way rentals to Spanish islands are not allowed.
You need a valid driver’s license plus an ID or passport for a SIXT rental in Spain. Renters with licenses using a non-Roman alphabet, like Arabic or Cyrillic, also need an international driving permit.
Credit and debit cards from internationally recognized companies (Visa, MasterCard, etc.) are accepted at our branches in Spain. Prepaid cards are not accepted. Some car categories require a credit card as payment.
