Start your adventure as soon as you pick up your rental car in Norway. Keep the following tips and tricks in mind for a hassle-free trip:
-Manual vs. automatic: Manual cars are the norm in Norway, but there are also automatic models available from SIXT.
-Headlights: You must use headlights even during the daytime when you rent a car in Norway, but during the day they should be on the dimmest setting.
-Local road types: You’ll often encounter long tunnels and winding mountain passes. Try to drive in a low gear and always be cautious and alert.
-Toll roads: There are some toll roads in Norway that can be paid with the AutoPASS system. Ask our SIXT branch stuff about our hassle-free toll packages.
-Winter weather: Some mountain roads can be impassable depending on severe winter weather, especially in the north. Keep an eye on the weather forecast during your trip.
With these and other recommendations for driving in Norway, your trip is bound to be a smooth and enjoyable one.
