Sixt rent a car offers several options for insurance: SLI, PDW, LDW, GDW, & PAI, below you will be able to see a description of each car rental insurance and what it means for the renter/driver.

Liability coverage/Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI)

Liability coverage is the most basic insurance that Sixt offers, however it is a must when you rent a car from any company. If purchased, Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) protects the renter against claims made by a third party for bodily injury and/or property damages sustained as a result of an accident while the renter is operating a rental vehicle.

This coverage supplies the renter with third-party liability protection up to a limit of $1,000,000 per accident. Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) does not cover all all situations nor risks that may arise while operating a rental vehicle Examples when there may be exclusions where you will not be covered under this insurance include unauthorized or intoxicated drivers, no first party uninsured motorist coverage, no coverage for certain passengers in the Vehicle, among other exclusions.

The costs for the Sixt’s SLI can range between $10 -$15, depending on where you are renting from Sixt. For more information about where you are renting from, see the table below.

(Supplementary Liability Insurance can also be known as SL)
