FAQs Mobile check-in

Do I need a profile to use mobile check-in?

No, Guest bookings are currently working as well. The advantage of a profile is that you only need to upload your drivers license once.

Do I need the SIXT app to use mobile check-in?

No, Mobile Check-in can be used via the APP as well as via Mobile Web (using your mobile browser such as Safari, Chrome or similar).

Where can I use mobile check-in?

You can use Mobile Check at all major airports in the US as well as in Europe (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, United Kingdom). In Germany, you can also use Mobile Check in at a couple of train stations and downtown stations. 

How long does it take for my driver's license to be verified?

You don't have to wait, your driver's license will be checked immediately. It will only take a couple of minutes.

My driver's license could not be verified, what can I do?

If unfortunately our system could not process your driver's license, we ask you to please go to the counter this time and complete your rental there. You will then be verified for your next rental with SIXT and can use Mobile Check-in. 

Why are no vehicles shown?

Our system continuously checks the branch's fleet. It seems that there is currently no vehicle available in your booked category. Please try again after a few minutes or contact our employees at the counter. They will find a suitable vehicle for you.

How do I know where to pick up the key?

In the Mobile Check-in flow you will receive directions on where to go. At most US branches you can go directly to the parking area where the key is handed over. At most EU branches we have at the normal branch a dedicated labelled "Mobile Check-In counter" so that you don't have to wait in the regular line but can go straight to this one.
