Highway heading to Llucmajor/Santanyi:

Leave the highway on exit 20 (Son Antem). At the roundabout take the second exit (Son Antem). After approx. 3min a Hotel sign appears, turn right. Go straight ahead passing the doorman until you approach a roundabout. Left you already see the hotel, the Sixt desk is located on the right side of the hotel lobby.

  • 18.08.2011- Throw ducks at Can Picafort without living ducks

    The traditional throwing ducks at Can Picafort on the north coast of Mallorca has taken place yesterday for the first time without living ducks. Instead of live animals were tossed from six boats of1,500 rubber ducks into the sea. Countless people plunged into the sea to catch one or more of the ducks, for he had captured a duck, could participate in a raffle in which there was to win a weekend in a four-star hotel. A great spectacle, which was watched by about 5,000 spectators from the shore. The throwing of live animals had been heavily criticized in recent years, both from tourists and animal rights activists. Police officials from the local police of Can Picafort and the Guardia Civil provided at this year's show that the animal protection law was respected.

    Many visitors in Mallorca ask themselfes if the tap water is drinkable. To answer this question you need to be aware that the quality of tap water is very different depending on the region you are. Inthe area around Santanyi, Sineu, Sa Pobla the water is harmful because of high nitrate analyse values. In contrast the values of Palma are ok. The city gets its water from the fount "Font de la Vila".In generell you should avoid to drink tap water. In supermarkets exists a hugh choice of different bottled waters which should be better used.
